Fall Fashion: Day 4 Sloane
I'm getting so cold with this fall weather. What's the best way to help that? Make warm clothes! I pulled out my hoarded sherpa knit that is cozy and warm to make a fun Sloane.
Day 4: Sloane
Every Sloane I've made, I've been happy to wear. So when I wanted to sew this sherpa french terry, making a Sloane was an easy choice. I love how the yoke detail can profile a contrasting look.
Pattern Details
The Sloane features sizing from XS-5X. The pattern is drafted for knit fabric only with a banded or curved hem top length. It includes an optional yoke which can be great for colorblocking or scrapbusting. For the neckline, choose from a neckband or hood. It also includes A0 and projector files. Plus this pattern is available for kids too!
Fabric
The fabric is one of my favorite (hoarded) fabric from Mily Mae Fabrics. It's a sherpa french terry knit that's soft and fuzzy on the inside and flat on the outside. It's warm to wear but easy to sew since it has a flat side. Unfortunately this fabric is sold out and won't be back. If you have it in your stash, definitely consider making it into a Sloane.
Fit
In regards to fit, I measure between a Small and Medium. I chose to make the size small with this make to have a bit slimmer fit. I've made both sizes of Sloane and like both.
Options
This is the curved hem version with colorblock yoke and hood.
Modifications
The only mod I did for this make is adding grommets and a drawstring. I like how the drawstring adds a professional finish.
Would I make any changes next time?
Yes, I should have added a kangaroo front pocket or hacking in-seam pockets.
