Top Nine 2020 Love Notions Patterns

Let's talk about my Top Nine 2020 Love Notions makes because it's sale week and the perfect time to pickup patterns for the year! Read this post to see how you can enter to win a Love Notions pattern of your choice for FREE!

What were my most sewn or favorite makes using Love Notions patterns from 2020? I was shocked that some of these patterns were released in 2020 when I looked back. It seemed like it was years ago. Oh yeah, 2020 was long but that just means I got some amazing makes in. Let's take a look!

1. Kids Compose Robe

This may have been the last item I sewed in 2020 but it didn't disappoint! My niece asked for a robe for Christmas and I'd been really wanting to try the Kids Compose. I had picked it up for the free head wrap add-on so the robe request was a nice bonus. I used Mily Mae Fabrics alpaca fleece which is soft but not as heavy as fleece. I think the result was stunning and comfortable.

Plus the free hair wrap made from waffle knit

2. Moto Maxx Tee

This is by far my most sewn pattern of 2020. The fit is true to size for my boys and the little colorblocking option at the shoulder yolk they love. I love that I can get a panel on the front with the shoulder accents! Win, win! Plus, the Moto Maxx was updated with a projector file so it's even quicker to make. While it does come with both pants and a shirt in the pattern download, maybe in 2021 I'll get around to making the pants. I've been so stuck on the tee!

3. Sabrina Slims

Do you remember how before the pandemic hit, the Sabrina Slims was updated and re-released? I continue to rave about the fit and shape of these pants. If you struggle with pant fitting, the extensive fit guide included with this pattern makes a world of difference. I have a full pattern review on the blog here with more info.

4. Summer Basics

Don't let the Summer Basics pattern name make you think this pattern is only for the summer. I wear my Summer Basics tanks as layering pieces year round. Plus if you add the shelf bra, you don't need to wear a bra and no one will know. I'm planning on batch cutting more of these tanks in the coming months as I wear mine all the time. I especially love that this pattern uses so little fabric. I was able to get my maxi version from 2 yards! I was on the Love Notions blog with information on the shelf bra that was added during the sizing update in 2020.

5. Vivace Dolman

The Vivace Dolman features a unique and fun front center pleat that also provides ease at the waist. It's the perfect balance for me with fit, not too fitted or too loose. I especially love that this pattern can be made with woven or knits since it includes separate pattern pieces for both fabric types. I reviewed this pattern during it's release and have a blog post here

6. Breckenridge Henley

I know I just reviewed the Breckenridge but it's not a pattern that should be forgotten. The v-style henley placket neckline sets this pattern apart. The construction is simple and beginner friendly so everyone can achieve a gorgeous placket. I published a pattern review this week about the Breckenridge and my love of it!

7. Vanguard Tee

My boys aren't listening to me and just keep growing. Fortunately I found the Vanguard this year and haven't stopped making color blocked tees for them since. I like that this pattern includes 3 views for colorblocking plus a projector file. It's quick to cut and assemble. I was on the Love Notions blog in September featuring the Vanguard and how to have fun colorblocking.

I was also on the Love Notions blog with a diagonal color block hack using the Vanguard. It turned out some of my favorite tops of the summer!

8. Harmony Blouse

The Harmony was one of my first woven apparel sews that I reach to wear time and time again. It's a classic look with a fitted bust and flared waist and hips. I love the flutter sleeves with it as it's a light and airy feeling top. I plan on filling my wardrobe for spring 2021 with as many Harmony's as I can.

9. Sloane Sweater

I'm in love with colorblocking so finding a hoodie pattern for women that features a color block yolk seemed like I won. Then I made a couple Sloane's and fell more in love. This pattern has options but not too many to be overwhelming. I've made it in squish (super soft thick) and in waffle (mid weight and looser) for different looks and fits. It would lend well to French Terry too, which is my plan next.

Do you have a favorite Love Notions pattern or one you are hoping to pickup during the sale? All patterns are 30% off site wide. This is the only site wide sale for the next 6 months so don't miss out! I'd love if you shop my affiliate link as that supports my continuing to test and sew.
