Surprise! It's a free pattern! I'm excited to announce the new Harper Cardigan from Sinclair Patterns which is being offered for FREE with code HARPER through September 30, 2019.

This pattern has everything! It's offered in 3 cuffed sleeves, 4 lengths from cropped to duster, optional pockets and can be made fully on a serger if you choose. As with all Sinclair Patterns, there are also files for petite, regular and tall heights as well.

I made two versions of the Harper during testing. First let's talk about sizing. For all of the Sinclair Pattern's I've made, I measure a size or two larger for my waist. Due to the ease at the waist for Harper though, it is not recommended grade out the waist unless you are grading more than 2 sizes. Both of my Harpers are straight size 6 in regular height. There is plenty of room in the waist still, without grading out 2 sizes, that my Harper could close if I chose to add buttons to it.

My first Harper is a 3/4 sleeve with cuff in classic length. I would consider this a "tunic" length where it stops just past my butt. I used the mauve striped waffle knit from Mily Mae Fabrics for this one. This fabric is a medium weight to provide warmth but not added bulk. I have some pockets cut out too that I might add still, I just couldn't decide on what look I wanted. I've paired this Harper with a previously made Macy in grey rayon spandex. I love the loose draped neckline of Macy and find it as a beautiful alternative to a basic tee.

My other Harper is a short sleeve cropped length. This ends just past my high hip and pairs well with high waisted bottoms. One of my favorite parts of the cropped length is that it can be made with so little fabric. I used a scrap piece of this charcoal stitch French Terry that was about a yard but oddly cut out of. I paired it with ivory distressed for the cuffs and front bands. Both of these color ways of fabric are sold out but I've linked different colors that are still available and coordinate. The cropped length is the only option that the optional pocket does not work with.
